Nuisance?

Have you experienced anti social behaviour or seen something you would like to report?

We have set up an email address –
nuisance@dhra.org.uk – where you can report all manner of anti social behaviour.

This email address does not go directly to the Police, if you need a Police response please call 0845 3300222, or call 999 in an emergency.

We are working closely with the Police to make our area a much nicer place to live. We would like to build up a picture of the range of anti social behaviour in the area.

Quite often people suffer from antisocial behaviour but, for various reasons, don’t always ring the police about it. The emails you send to this email address go directly to the dHRA and are passed on to the Police and or University

Details from the nuisance emails will be added to a spreadsheet to keep as a record and build a picture of the problems we have and when they may occur.

Depending on the nature of the information in the emails they may also be forwarded directly to the Police, Uni and/or Council who may be able to deal with the problems.

In legal terms the Crime and Disorder Act (1988) defines anti-social behaviour as: “Acting in a manner that caused or was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household [as the perpetrator].

There are four main categories of antisocial behaviour: Misuse of public places; Disregard for the community; Acts directed at people; Environmental damage.

The sort of behaviours that are classed as antisocial that you can email the nuisance@dhra.org.uk email about include:

Please try and provide as much information as possible in your email. Such as times, dates, location, whether the behaviour has happened on more than one occasion, the descriptions of people involved, car registration numbers etc as well as the impact it has on you and your family.

We may forward your email directly onto the relevant authority, such as the Police or Uni, please say in your email if you specifically don’t want us to forward your contact details to them.

Littering and dumping rubbish is also considered antisocial behaviour. We have another email address for reporting this type of issue – litter@dhra.org.uk.

Thanks in advance for your help.
