the arts installation and ideas were starting to flow. The next stage was to undertake consultation with the local residents. The
list of options included: - · A central thematic area with ground
feature, such as a tile mosaic, based on the flower motif. · A central area that is
built up with a small wall and also flower motifs that might be carved in stone.
· A ground game, such as a 'flower' hopscotch court, that could be made in various materials including tile mosaics. · A seat/s in metal with flower motifs. · A purely sculptural piece based on flowers and probably made in metal or a three dimensional mosaic sculpture. By July 2007 Creu-Ad had come up with a number of firm proposals. These were shown to local residents at Howe Dell summer fete and a presentation on the proposed site of the installation. The Buttercup design was accepted in September 2008 and plans were drawn up for the design. Construction was started and the rest as they say is history…. |
